Will C. BRAWLEY, who always plays a roll in the advancement of a community, the genial editor of the "Antigo Herald" and general manager of the Langlade Printing Company, enjoys that prestige in Antigo [Langlade County, Wisconsin] and vicinity.  A veteran journalist, he has been engaged in publicity work for forty years.  His first venture in journalism was the launching of "The Yellow River Lumberman" at Necedah [Juneau County, Wisconsin].  The publication was later transferred to Mauston [Juneau County].  He later sold the "Mauston Sun," the mechanical department of which was transferred to Pierre [Hughes County], South Dakota.

Mr. BRAWLEY then established, with Jeremiah C. MURPHY, the "Ashland Daily News" [Ashland, Wisconsin].  Mr. BRAWLEY was also a staff writer on the original "Chicago Herald," established by James W. SCOTT, and for a time was political writer on the old "LaCrosse Chronicle" [LaCrosse, Wisconsin] and the "Oconto Enterprise" [Oconto, Wisconsin].

In 1910 he purchased,  with William F. KASSON, the "Antigo Herold" [note different spelling], a German language publication, and changed it to the present English language publication, the "Antigo Herald."  The editorials from the Herald are frequently copied by leading state papers.

Through the late Governor PECK, of Wisconsin [George Wilbur PECK, born 28 September 1840, Henderson [Jefferson County], New York; Governor of Wisconsin from 05 January 1891 to 07 January 1895; died 16 April 1916; buried in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin], Mr. BRAWLEY represented the Ways and Means Committee of the Democratic National Committee in the last Bryan campaign [author here refers to William J. BRYAN, who ran for President against William McKINLEY in 1896 and 1900, and against William H. TAFT in 1908], and in the interests of that Committee [p 346] made a tour of the state of Iowa.  He was for twenty years Secretary and a member of the Democratic State Central Committee and attended four National Conventions as a delegate.
