Funeral Rites
Set Friday for
Antigo Resident
Wenzel P. (Jim) Drexler Sr., 81 of 423 Hudson street, died
Tuesday evening at the Langlade County Memorial hospital.
He was born Dec. 17, 1892 in the town of Rolling, the son of the
late Wenzel and Barbara Drexler.
On June 10, 1919 he married the former Elizabeth Sazama.
She survives. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary in June of this year.
Mr. Drexler operated a farm in the town of Rolling until his
retirement in 1959. He then moved to Antigo where he had resided
since.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic church, Antigo, and a
member of the Holy Name Society of the church.
He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. George (Elizabeth)
Hunt, Aniwa, and Mrs. Herman (Virginia) Oesterreich, route 2,
Clintonville; two sons, Wenzel Jr., Detroit, Mich., and Bernard, White
Lake; one brother Anton Drexler Sr., Antigo; 17 grandchildren and 17
great grandchildren.
Mr. Drexler was preceded in death by a brother Joseph and two
sisters, Mrs. Anna Fleischman and Mrs. Barbara Frisch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's
Catholic church with the Rev. Robert LaLiberte officiating.
Burial will be in the Queen of Peace cemetery.
Friends may call at the McCandless-Zobel & Bradley Funeral
home after 3 p.m. Thursday. A wake service will be held Thursday
evening at 8 o'clock.
