Cemetery Restorations - Photo Album
Ralph Hendersin has worked extremely hard on restoring Monroe
County Cemeteries. Here is his photo journal to follow his progress.
Photo 1 - Ralph Cleaning out trees, brush, stumps and overhanging tree limbs
Photo 2 - Ralph's first view of Larson-Pioneer (Cannon Valley) cemetery
Photo 3 - The large tabletstone in Larson cemetery (broken into four
pieces)
Photo 4 -
This is a photo of the clamping arrangement Ralph uses for stones where
there is still a segment of the upright stone remaining solidly attached
to the base. He has applied the epoxy and carefully fitted a large
broken off piece of the stone to the segment that remained in the base.
Notice that he has wrapped the splints with wax paper at the joint to
prevent the epoxy from sticking the splints to the stone. If this
sticking is not prevented small pieces of the stone will break out when
the splints are removed, a definite no-no when our motto is "DO NO
HARM". Ralph uses wax paper rather than plastic sheeting so that if any paper
happens to stick it can be scrubbed it away, whereas plastic would be there
seemingly forever.
