.SURING
Suring began its humble origin
before the year
of 1872 when it was part of the Town ot How. Before that it was in the
Town of Washington. Shawano County, Wisconsin. The first chairman was
Fred
YakeL. The first clerk was Alexander Grignon.
In the year of 1879, Town of How was
set-off
from the county of Shawano and made a part of Oconto County with Joe
Suring
as its chairman. In. 1880, the Town of How laid out the highway between
sections 12 and 13, which is the section on which the Village of Suring
is located. This is the present highway 32 or Main Street of the
village.
