The family of Frank Down, early town of Breed settler, posed proudly in front of their homestead in the year 1896. Down was originally from New York state. His wife, an extremely religious woman, organized many church groups among the women of the area, and the couple's home served as a stopping-off place for circuit riders coming to Suring and Hayes.
The first Frostville School built in 1878.
The Maple Valley House in Frostville was the social center for area'residents. Picture shows a wedding party and their guests gathered before the hotel in 19th centurv attire.
