St John's Catholic Church -Gillett
A Catholic Mission, served by priests from Keshena and Stiles, was organized in Gillett in 1872 or 1873.  Services were held in the homes of Catholic families about twice a month, when the men of the congregation would drive to Stiles or Keshena to pick up a priest.
In 1887 the first Catholic Church was built on Main Street. In 1907 the church was moved to its present location on South Garden Avenue and a rectory was built for resident priests. The church building has been remodeled several tines since being moved.

Originally named "Swedish Evangelical Lutheran " and the "Scandinavian Lutheran" Chruches, it is combined presently as
Tabor Lutheran Church
-Mountain.
The original structure was built in the early 1890's in the town's original location at the top of the rocky "mountain" outcroping and was the public school. The town "slid" downhill to it's present location after 1897 when the railroad chose that route.
