THURSDAY

Ervin Ahlswede, 67, former Sampson resident, died Wednesday at the Oconto Falls Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1911 in Sturgeon Bay.

Mr. Ahlswede was a licensed cheesemaker and employed at the Drause Dairy, Morgan, for a number of years and also was employed at the Larson Co., Green Bay. He also operated a tavern in Sampson.

Survivors include one son, Gerald, Krakow; two stepsons, James Machurick, Abrams; Donald Machurick, Atlantic Beach, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. James (Patricia) Van Straten, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren, three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy Baker, North Carolina; Elsie Peterson, State of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arvilla (Arvilla Eunice Dickson 1922 - 1950), and his second wife, Verene (Verene Marie Exford 1906 - 1976), and two daughters. (First wife and two daughters died 1950 in a car - train accident)

Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, after 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd Groth man officiating.
