Visitation was held for Caroline J. Basche, 95, of Green Bay on
Saturday, May 15 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Green Bay
from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.
Fr. David Pleier officiated and burial was at Allouez Catholic
Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay assisted the family with
arrangements. She died Thursday, May 13.
The former Caroline Effenberger was born on Dec. 31, 1914 in Oconto
Falls to the late Anton and Mary (Satz) Effenberger.
A graduate of Oconto Falls High School, she married Frank J. Basche in
Oconto Falls. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1972. A longtime
member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Bay, she
volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and was member of the Altar Society.
Survivors include four children, Mrs. Sam (Carol) Sarra of Fond du Lac,
Mrs. Lee (Annette) Fabry of Green Bay, Mrs. Norman (Cecile) Goral of De
Pere and Wynn (Suaree) Basche of Lindenhurst, Ill.; 13 grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many other
relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Frank, she was preceded in
death by a daughter, Laurie Basche; a son, Stephen Basche; a
granddaughter, Cindy Basten; fiver brothers and three sisters.
