Funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon at the Steffen Funeral home, Lena, for Charles Prausa, 84, who died suddenly Sunday, March 26, at the farm home of his son James, R1, Oconto Falls. Rites were conducted by Rev. G.I. Krein and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Oconto chapter of which he was a member, and burial was in the Spruce cemetery.

Mr. Prausa, who was a well known resident of Oconto Falls, was born in Carlton, Kewaunee county, April 23, 1865. He was married to Miss Emma Tischer (*my notes - also spelled Tisher) in Oconto April 18, 1899 and lived there two years before coming to the farm where his son James now resides. Mrs. Tischer (sic - should be Prausa) preceded him in death Sept. 16, 1936.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Rose) Baccus, Suring; Mrs. Fred (Mae) Teteak, Manitowoc; Mrs. Charles (Emma) Kubicheck (sic - also spelled Kubichek), Oroville, Washington; three sons, Charles, Green Bay; Joseph, Manitowoc and James on the home farm; one sister, Mrs. Dora Nuhlichek (*my notes - also spelled Nuhlicek), Kewaunee; 28 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

*My notes - Charles was married twice. First marriage to Mary Kustka (1868-1898) and second marriage to Emma Tisher. James Prausa and Emma (Prausa) Kubichek are children from his second marriage. His parents: Joseph Prausa (1823-1911) and Dora Pelnar (1827-1905)
