.FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
CHARLES PRAUSA ARE HELD WEDNESDAY .
were held last Wednesday afternoon at the Steffen Funeral home, Lena,
for Charles Prausa, 84, who died suddenly Sunday, March 26, at the farm
home of his son James, R1, Oconto Falls. Rites were conducted by Rev.
G.I. Krein and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Oconto chapter of
which he was a member, and burial was in the Spruce cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clinton
and Oliver Baccus, Gerald and Chas. Teteak and Wallace and Arlyn
Prausa, all grandsons of the deceased. Cleone, Corrine, Betty Prausa,
Shirley Osweiler, Mrs. Oliver Baccus and Mrs. Clinton Baccus were in
charge of the flowers.
Mr. Prausa, who was a
well known resident of Oconto Falls, was born in Carlton, Kewaunee
county, April 23, 1865. He was married to Miss Emma Tischer (*my notes
- also spelled Tisher) in Oconto April 18, 1899 and lived there two
years before coming to the farm where his son James now resides. Mrs.
Tischer (sic - should be Prausa) preceded him in death Sept. 16, 1936.
Survivors are three
daughters, Mrs. Henry (Rose) Baccus, Suring; Mrs. Fred (Mae) Teteak,
Manitowoc; Mrs. Charles (Emma) Kubicheck (sic - also spelled Kubichek),
Oroville, Washington; three sons, Charles, Green Bay; Joseph, Manitowoc
and James on the home farm; one sister, Mrs. Dora Nuhlichek (*my notes
- also spelled Nuhlicek), Kewaunee; 28 grandchildren and nine great

married twice. First marriage to Mary Kustka (1868-1898) and second
marriage to Emma Tisher. James Prausa and Emma (Prausa) Kubichek are
children from his second marriage. His parents: Joseph Prausa
(1823-1911) and Dora Pelnar (1827-1905)
