Dorothea Guetzke, 86, of Three Lakes, formerly of Oconto Falls, died Thursday, May 20, at Grace Lodge in Rhinelander.

Born in Milwaukee on Oct. 28, 1917, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Alvina Sohrweidon) Held, she grew up in Milwaukee where she graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. On Oct. 21, 1939, she married Arthur F. Guetzke and the couple lived in Milwaukee until moving to Oconto Falls in 1965. She was a member Grace Lutheran Church Oconto Falls and active in the women’s circles. She also was a volunteer with the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

Survivors include on daughter Mrs. Paul (Joanne) Matthias, Three Lakes; and a son, John (Jan) Gruetzke of Oconomowoc; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur on Feb. 8. 1994; two brothers and one sister.

There will be no visitation Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Rev. Barb Girod of Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes will officiate.

In lieu of other expressions sympathy, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls. Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown Rhinelander Cancer Center or the charity of one’s choice.
