Guest Book Fern V. Drews, 94, Oconto Falls, died Friday morning, March
9, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 21, 1917, in
Angelica, to William and Florence (Egan) Christensen. Fern grew up in
the Oconto Falls area, where she graduated high school with the class
of 1937. As a young women, Fern worked for Falls Paper & Power.
On May 14, 1937, she married Merdon "Bud" Drews in Green Bay. The
couple made their home in Oconto Falls, where she was a long time
member of the United Methodist Church and took part in bible study,
senior choir and the ELECTA Circle. Over the years, Fern belonged to
the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Oconto Falls Women's Club
and River Island Golf Club. Fern also enjoyed bowling for the Lazy
Daizy's team for 20 years, golfing, ceramics (which her children all
received as gifts), playing bridge with her friends, boating, shopping
and chaperoning the Jr. Class trips. Along with her husband, she liked
snowmobiling, riding behind Bud on his Indian motorcycle and following
their son, Don's racing career on snowmobiles. Most of all, Fern
enjoyed being a grandmother, great-grandmother and

Sr., Spruce; Karen (David) Heinbuch, Sun Prairie; nine grandchildren,
22 great grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buddy on June
25, 1989; two sisters, Lois and Sharon; one brother, Clyde Christensen;
one grandson Todd; her son-in-law, Dale Thomson on April 24, 2011; and
daughter-in-law, Pat Drews on October 30, 2007.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Jones
Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit:
www.jonesfuneral.com). Visitation will continue at the Oconto Falls
Untied Methodist Church after 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, until
the time of service. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. at the
church with the Rev. Fritz Schulz officiating. Burial will follow in
Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
