. George Prausa Dies At Age 78 .

OCONTO - A retired Oconto County businessman, George J. Prausa, 78, of route 1, Oconto, died Friday at Riverside Nursing Home in Oconto. Death followed a long illness.

A lifetime resident of the county, Mr. Prausa operated the Little River general store and was a cattle dealer for many years before his retirement in 1959. He was born Dec. 22, 1893, at Spruce.

He was a member of the Odd fellow lodge, County Line Grange and Lena United Methodist Church.

Mr. Prausa married the former Vivian Couillard on March 21, 1917, at Oconto. She survives along with three daughters, Mrs. Lee Delcore of Racine, Mrs. Louis Janovsky of Milwaukee and Mrs. Darwyn Baldwin of route 1, Oconto; four sons, Duane, route 1, Oconto, Harold of Appleton, Roland of Oconto and William of Waukesha.

Also surviving are three brothers, Charles of Green Lake, Henry of Two Rivers and Robert of California; six sisters, Mrs. Phillip Smith and Mrs Arthur Wilson of Milwaukee, Mrs. Henry Bartz of Oconto Falls, Mrs. Edward Steffel of Spruce, Mrs. Alvina Hansen of Two Rivers and Ruby Prausa, address unknown; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Gallagher-Pinkart-MacQueen funeral home at 217 Congress St. after 2 p.m. Sunday. Final rites will be held there Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dale Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The Odd Fellows lodge will conduct rites at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.
