Joyce P. Albright, 84, of Calumet City, Ill., passed away peacefully after a short battle with heart failure on April 10, 2010. She was born on August 31, 1925 in Marinette, Wis. to the late Herman and Nora Parlow.
Joyce was raised in Marinette. She went on to study nursing at the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee, Wis. After graduation, she worked at the Chicago Maternity Clinic, Rush University Medical center, Hines Veterans Hospital and after receiving her degree as a Nurse Practitioner, she returned to Rush where she specialized in prenatal medicine for over 40 years. After retiring she and her husband traveled extensively and spent most of their summers at their lake home in Wisconsin. One of her fondest memories was her last international trip to the Ukraine and Russia with her brother and his wife. She loved her family, friends and community and will be missed by all. Joyce and her husband, Robert, had no children but had a large group of close and associates.
Joyce leaves her brother, Richard of Bowie, Md.; his three children: Paige (Alex) Forrest and Graham (Leslie) Parlow of Richmond, Va. And Brook (Nicole) Parlow of Rico, Colo.; her five great-nieces and nephews: Will and Hayden Forrest, Carter and Rob Parlow and River Parlow; a brother-in-law, Dale Albright of Chicago, Ill. and nephew, Tom Albright of South Portland, Maine as well as her other “family” the Kinsellas of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Albright, in 2005.
A memorial service will be held at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 18420 Burnham Ave., Lansing, Ill., 60438 on May 1, 2010 at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at a later date.
