Joseph Peter Prausa, 74, R1-Oconto Falls, died Monday at the Oconto Falls hospital following a short illness.

He was born May 19, 1896, in Kewaunee county and had lived at the rural Oconto Falls address for the past five years. Prior to moving there he had resided in Waupaca where he was employed as an agent for the Railway Express Agency for 16 years. He married Jessie Justeson in 1956.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Wise of Franksville, Mrs. LeRoy Greening of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Richard Mushel of Manitowoc; one son, Wallace of Manitowoc; one brother, James, of R1-Oconto Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Teteak of Manitowoc and Mrs. Charles Kubichek of Tenaska (sic) *my notes - it is spelled Tonasket*, Wash., and nine grandchildren.

Friends called at the Soulek funeral home in Lena where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dale Jennings officiated and burial took place in Pine Hill cemetery at Spruce.
