Lillian E. Grenke, 90, Oconto Falls died Friday morning, June 13, the day following her birthday celebration with her family.
The daughter of Helmuth and Amanda (Tews) Giessel was bom June 12, 1918, in the Town of Seness and grew up in Shawano County, where she attended school.

She worked in Green Bay and married Julius Grenke there on April 22,1940. The couple lived in the Town of Oconto Falls for most of their married life, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. She was also employed as a caseworker for the Department sf Social Services in Oconto County for 15 years. She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls, where she was very involved and taught Sunday School. She was also a 4-H leader in the area for many years. She spent winters in Florida with family and while there, did volunteer work for senior citizens and the visually handicapped.

Survivors are two children, Mrs. Dean (Diane) Peitersen and Roger (Dawn) Grenke, both of Oconto; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Giessel of Tilleda and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julius on June 19, 1994; two brothers, Arland and James Giessel and five sisters, Verna Kramer, Mona Angus, Ruth Balboa, Betty Giessel and June Reinert.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 17, at Gracce Lutheran Church, Oconto at 11 a.m. Rev. Doreen Jeffers officiated and burial was in Woodlawn Cemertery in Oconto. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls served the family
