Mae Brandenburg, 93, Gillett, died Tuesday evening, April 6, 2010 at
the Woodlands of Gillett.
She was born March 9, 1917 in the Town of Washington to Charles and
Nellie (Hanson) Roubal. Mae was raised in the Pulcifer area where she
On Aug. 2, 1936 she married Albert Brandenburg in Hayes. Following
their marriage, the couple owned and operated a family farm for many
years. Mae was a longtime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in
Gillett where she was once active in the ELCW. Over the years, she also
belonged to the Oconto County Homemakers and the Gillett Golden Agers
Club. Mae was also well known in the area for baking numerous wedding
Survivors are: her four children, Joyce (Jim) Thompson, Egan, Minn.;
Donald Brandenburg, Cedarburg; Dennis (Judith) Brandenburg, Palo Alto,
Calif.; Jan (Lisa) Brandenburg, Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Bryant and
Duane (Delle) Thompson; Kate and Jack Brandenburg; Heidi Jo and Trevor
Brandenburg; one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brandenburg; one brother,
Edward (Julie) Roubal, Marrerow, La.; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert in 1977
and two brothers, Charles and Roger Roubal, and two sisters, Beryl
Martens and Isabelle Misch.

Visitation will continue at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church on West Main
Street in Gillett after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, until the time
of service. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the
church with the Rev. Lisa Ubbelohde officiating. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery.
