Robert J. "Bob" Olson age 88, Suring (Hickory), passed away with his family
by his side on Friday, January 4, 2013. He was born in Green Bay on August
21, 1924 to the late John and Erika (Lundquist) Olson. He was raised in the
Mountain and Suring areas. He attended Hickory Grade School and graduated
from Oconto Falls High School and graduated from UW River Falls (BS in
agriculture.) Robert married Bette Dieck on May 20, 1950 at St. Michael's
Rectory in Suring. He served in the Army Air Corp. in World War II. Bob
served on several state and county level civic organizations and the Suring
School Board. Bob was able to enjoy "The Old Glory Honor Flight" and recent
deer hunting season. He is a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and
Suring Legion Post #283.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Bette, Suring; 2 sons, Jack (Judi)
Olson, Suring, Jim (Marion) Olson, Green Bay; daughter, Diane "Nan" (Bill)
Tisch, Lena; a sister, Ruth (Paul) Langer, De Pere; daughter-in-law, Susan
(Rick) Krumrei, Suring; 9 grandchildren Erika (Dale) Schindel, Maranda
(Eric) Kritzeck, Jamie (Justin) Neils, Jeff Olson, Jesse (Kolia) Olson,
Katherine and Erick Olson, Billie Tisch and Tristin Tisch; 7 great
grandchildren, Brynna and Chase Schindel, Drew and Finley Kritzeck, Jack,
Jacey and June Neils.

Robert was preceded in death by his son, Greg; his grandson, Drew; his
brother, Colonel Gustave Olson and his sister, Blenda Webster.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Our Redeemer's
Lutheran Church in Suring from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am with
Pastor Beth Macha officiating. Robert will be interred in Hickory Cemetery.
