Mrs. F. Bartels Dies at Coleman

Funeral is Set For 2 P.M. Monday


            Mrs. Fred Bartels, 86, a resident of Coleman for 41 years died at 11:15 Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rene Durocher, after a long illness.

            Mrs. Bartels was born the former Emma Lenz, born in Germany March 15, 1871. At 21 she came to this country and settled in Seymour.

            Soon after, she was married to Fred Bartels, who in 1916 moved his family to Coleman where he operated a farm for many years. He died in 1937.

            Surviving are a son Henry of Green Bay; two daughters, Mrs. John Grooter of Grand Rapids, Mich and Mrs. Durocher; a half-sister, Mrs. Augusta Drees of Seymour, 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

            Funeral services will be held Monday at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church of Coleman, of which she was a member of the Ladies Aid, at 2 P.m. The Rev. L.E. Pingel will officiate.

            Friends may call at the Rhodes Mortuary from 2 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday and thereafter at the church until the time of the services
