Kimpel, Mr. Richard

Mr. Richard Kimpel, 90, of Oconto, was received into his Heavenly Home, Friday morning, June 21, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital Green Bay.

A time of visitation was held from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Oconto Gospel Chapel. A service followed at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Reverend Peter Dorn officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto.

Pallbearers were Matt Karban, Bill Koehne, Adam Altergott, Dan St. Louis, Loren Kaiser and Jerry Gordon.

Richard Walter Kimpel was born October 25, 1922, in Oconto to Mr. Walter and Mrs. Elsa (Voeltz) Kimpel. He graduated from Oconto High School. On March 4, 1961, Richard was united in marriage to the former Ms. Eunice M. Koeppen. The couple resided in Spokane, Washington. Dick first worked in Washington in the construction field. The couple later moved to Milwaukee where Dick was employed by Safeway Industries for many years, until his retirement in 1984. His wife, Eunice preceded him in death on November 23, 1969.

Dick enjoyed fishing, golfing, remodeling and tinkering.

Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Alvina Gordon and Mrs. Ruby Hermans of Oconto; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Kimpel of Spokane; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; Godchildren, Susie St. Louis and Amber Swaer.

In addition to his wife, Eunice, Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Miss Lenora Kimpel, Mrs. Henrietta Neddo, Mrs. Luella Strack; a brother, Mr. Edward Kimpel; brothers-in-law, Mr. Bernard Strack, Mr. George Hermans and Mr. Jerome Gordon as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Raymond B. Ackerman, Jr. (563) 212-4060. Lemke Funeral Homes, Clinton, Iowa.
