Roy N. Christiansen, age 89, former life-long Peshtigo resident and
recently a resident of Midway, Georgia and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin,
passed away on March 29, 2000 at Grancare Nursing Center, Fond du Lac.
He was born May 23, 1910 to Charles and Mary (Engle) Christiansen.
He was married to Angeline Drees on June 6, 1938 in the Town of Grover.
She preceded him in death.
Roy was a member of Peshtigo Methodist Church and the Midway Methodist
Church, Georgia. He worked at Badger Paper Mill for 40 years. After
retiring, he enjoyed reading and various hobbies. He was a member of
Marinette/Peshtigo Masonic Lodge, Peshtigo Eastern Star, Scottish Rite
Valley of Green Bay, the Beja Shrine Temple of Green Bay and the
Savannah Kiwanis Club in Georgia. Roy was a loving father, grandfather
and great-grandfather. All who knew and loved Roy will miss him.
He is survived by his children, Ardis Sherman of Fond du Lac, Mary
(George) Dumke of Marinette, Ned Christiansen of Athelstane, Wisconsin
and Roy "Dennis" (Georgianne) Christiansen of Midway, Georgia. He is
also survived by his brother, Weston (Rose) Christiansen of Peshtigo.
Others who will miss Roy are his 11 grandchildren, Camille (John)
Leisten, Kevin Sherman, Allison (Steve) Nicol, Mary (Mark) Dake, Kyle
(Amy) Christiansen, Lisa (Clay) Malke, Kelli (Jeff) Hilliard, Hans
(Debbie) Dumke, Elizabeth Dumke, Chase Christiansen and Ted Dumke. His
nine great-grandchildren, Marisa & Alaina Leisten, Hayden
& Kirsten Dake, Anna & Jeffrey Hilliard, Iain Nicol,
Madison Dumke and Cole Malke will miss their Grandpa Roy.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son-in-law, Ronald Sherman;
daughter-in-law, Susan Christiansen; great-granddaughter, Brianna
Malke; two sisters, Doris Ewaldt and Duella Peterson and two brothers,
Austin and Steven Christiansen.
Memorial services will be held at the PESHTIGO METHODIST CHURCH,
Peshtigo on Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron
Cremation has taken place with inurnment in Riverside Cemetery,
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
