Edward "Ed" J. Wilde, 85 of Oconto died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 after a long
illness. He was born to the late Allen and Mary Ella (Petri) Wilde August 4,
1927 in Oconto. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Ed married Margaret
Brazeau Nov. 23, 1950 at the former St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena. He
worked as a meat cutter at Brazeau's Grocery Store in Oconto and retired
from the Oconto County Courthouse as maintenance man. Ed was very proud to
be involved in the community. He was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity
Catholic Church, Oconto and was a past member of the church council. He also
served the city of Oconto as an Alderman and on the Utility Board. Ed also
was past commander of the Jones-Modrow-Young Post 74 American Legion of
Oconto, and was an active participant in the Oconto Hospital Foundation
where he was honored to have the chapel named after his family.

Surviving are his wife Margaret, three daughters, Marie (Mike) Coopman,
Little Suamico; Rose (Darryl) Retrum, Hawthorn Woods, IL; Barbara (Dan)
Rudolph, DePere; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three
siblings, Laverne Olson, Gerard and James Wilde. Ed was preceded in death by
three brothers, Ellsworth, Patrick and Thomas Wilde and one sister, Ida Mae

Friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto Saturday, Jan. 26th
from 9 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon with
Father Joel Sember officiating. Military Rites will be given immediately
following Mass at the church by the Jones-Modrow-Young Post 74 American
Legion. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Please visit to express online condolences.
