Wilma F. Valenta of Kelly Lake passed away on Wednesday Jan. 25th, 2012 at the age of 97. She was born on October 3rd 1914. She married Joseph Valenta September 3rd 1938 and lived near Kelly Lake ever since.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph. Survivors include her three children: Joseph (Margaret) Valenta, Sherry (Dwane) Jagiello, and Laurel (Joseph) Abboud; her five grand children Adam (Shana) Valenta, Paige Valenta, Amir (Rita) Abboud, Yasmine Abboud, and Donnie Jagiello; and her three great grandchildren Joseph ‘Mac’ Valenta, Connor Valenta, and Owen Abboud.

Her family was very important to her from her siblings to her great grandchildren. Her love of education showed through her years of teaching and also around the kitchen table while sharing family and local history with her grand and great grandchildren. She was a life-long member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church and it was and is an important part of her and her family’s lives.

( Note:  Husband's surname is also spelled Walenta with the "w" having the "v" sound when spoken. Wilma is believed to be the eldest daughter among the 10 surviving children of Lars and Angeline Johnsen, farmers in Maple Grove, Oconto County, WI. Siblings included Lars Jr, Ronald, Kenneth, Clyde, Neva, May, Dora, Audrey and Virgil)
