built 1903

Only the front steps of Logan School were left to be seen in this  2012 photo
on Logan Rd, cross Spreeman Rd., and it's right on the left side near the road.

Classroom and students, taken at the same time as photo below, notice the girl on the far right with the fancy bowed, black hats in both photos. The open ironwork on wooden desks and flooring in this photo are the style installed in Oconto County schools in dated photos as c: 1890 - 1910 and for a few years afterward. However the number of students, their age spread and the clothing style of the older female students indicate the year of these photos to be well into the early 1900's.

Students from the classroom photo above now outside at the back door of the building.

c: 1905

Logan School  was located north of Suring near Breed on Logan Road.
My Aunt Gertrude Johnston Fonferek taught school there before she met and married my Uncle Ed Fonferek.
I don't have the date (3 Johnston sisters including Gertrude were teachers, by the 1905 census) but I know that a lot of kids were from the
Schultz, Hoerres, Ziereis, Johnson, Davis and Breed families
