Australia Lubbas Family
Carol Watkins

The name "Lubbas" is also a name that is part of my family. My Great Grandmother's name was "Lubbas". Henrietta Amelia Lubbas married Frederick Deick on the 10th September 1881. Frederick was aged 29 years and Henrietta was aged 27 years. The information I have is that her place of birth was Krie'ssholp Pommern Germany (I don't think this is correct) The grooms parents were as follows: Father,Karl Deick Mother,Ernstine Bager . The brides parents were as follows: Father, Johanna Lubbas (Lubas) Mother, Helena Leils.

Frederick Deick's place of birth was given as Gros (Gross) Gansen, Germany.

Their daughter, Emma Eda (Edith) Deick was born at Charters Towers, Queensland Australia on 24th February 1887. Henrietta Amelia's age was given as 32 years when Emma was born. Her father's age was given as being 34 years.

Emma Eda (Edith) Deick (Dick) married Francis Frederick Boehmer at Charters Towers, Australia on the 12th April 1918. Emma was aged 31 years and Francis was aged 43 years.

The groom was born in Mackay, Queensland Australia. His parents names are as follows Christian Frederick Boehmer and Johanna Rachel Rinmelt.

Emma Eda (Edith) and Francis Frederick Boehmer had two daughters Rachel Amelia born on 11th November 1920 and Pauline Edith born on 24th December 1922.

It has been very difficult to find information and this information that I have got has come from Magistrates Courts Office in Charters Towers, Queensland Australia. Also some information has come from Register's - General's Office in Brisbane, Queensland Australia.

I don’t know if this means we are related, but coming across this is the only information I’ve come across that mentions Gross Gansen.

Lubas Family

Lubbas is found spelled Lubas, Lubbas, Lubus and Lubos in various records in
Oconto county.  There are still families using the spelling of Lubas and
Lubus in  Brookside, Pensaukee and Oconto.

These records were  found among the church records of Christi Lutheran church,
Pensaukee, 1877-1929.  The records are written in German script.  The
last name spellings, below, are as they appeared in the church book. Depending
on minister writing the record it is spelled differently and some times harder to
read.

As an example, in the church death record for August Lubbas it is spelled Lubbas,
but the cemetery stone reads Lubas, as posted on Oconto web site. And on the August
Lubbas marriage record his father’s name is Carl Lubbas.  I suspect they
are all the same person.

Who can connect this group up and answer the questions?
