MOTT - TURVEY

and Mary Turvey
Archibald Mott and Eliza Turvey, who moved
separately
from Restigouche County, New Brunswick, married in Green Bay, Wisconsin
then settled and raised their family in Oconto, beginning in 1872.
Eliza
passed away Oct. 9, 1883, aged 32 years, of typhoid fever, leaving
Archibald
and five children, 2 boys and 3 girls, Margaret, Gordon, Archibald,
Harriet,
and Katherine.
Archibald remarried to Mary Schusilow (sp?) about
1887.
Mary passed away September 12, 1904. Archibald passed away September 3,
1917. The family is buried in the Evergreen cemetary, in Oconto.
The Oconto County Reporter reported that Archibald
Mott
was one of Oconto's early settlers, a well known lumberman, engaged in
the lumbering business in Oconto County until the early
1900's.
