CURTIS, Harris George
Harris George Curtis was one of Shiocten's early settlers arriving in 1854. His father arrived shortly after
that. H.G. Curtis was a published poet and the University Library in Appleton has two volumes of his book. He was
postmaster and brought the first horses into the area. In the book "Shadow of the Wolf" he wrote a eloquent
piece about the early settler women that was quite forward thinking.... He wrote a section about Shiocten/Bovina
in the old book "History of Outagamie County" He passed away in 1914 in Appleton. Scan
