(unknown newspaper and date)
Open house was held on Sunday, Feb. 21st at the home of Mrs.
Otto Behling at Port Washington in honor of Mrs. Lois Maechtle's 90th birthday. Nearly
one hundred relatives and friends extended best wishes and congratulations.
Mrs. Maechtle is the last survivor of both hers and her husband's family. She also
is the oldest member of the Methodist church, the oldest honorary member of the Cedarburg
Woman's Club and the only survivor of the Cedarburg War Mothers Club.
The greater share of the past forty years, Mrs. Maechtle has spent in Cedarburg.
She is now making her home here with her daughter and son-in-law, the Gerald Carters,
on North Park Place. She has one other daughter, Mrs. Emil Behling of Oconto Falls,
and one son Dewey Maechtle of Sheboygan. Among the many beautiful cards she received
was one special letter, which she received from Mrs. Dwight Eisenhower.
Mrs. Maechtle would like to take this opportunity to thank the many friends who sent
her cards, gifts and beautiful flowers.
