Frank Maechtle, 80, died at about 7:30 a.m. Monday at his
home after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Maechtle was born in the Town of Saukville on Aug. 13, 1878, and was married
to Emma Hansman at Milwaukee on Sept. 30, 1911. They settled on a farm in the Town
of Port Washington which they operated until about 10 years ago when they retired
to the city of Port Washington. Mrs. Maechtle died four years ago.
Survivors are one son, Harvey, on the homestead; two daughters, Miss Helen Maechtle,
at home, and Mrs. Albert (Janet) Laubenstein, Town of Port Washington; six grandchildren;
one sister, Mrs. Ed (Dora) Runkel, Sr., Port Washington, and three brothers, Ed of
Milwaukee, Monroe and Walter Maechtle, Town of Port Washington. Two sisters and one
brother preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Grand Ave. E.U.B. Church, a class leader and a Sunday School
teacher and superintendent for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grand Ave. Church by the
Rev. Leslie Pardun, pastor, with interment at the Port Washington Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Horn Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday,
then at the church until the time of services.
