Was Assemblyman From the Third District in 1889 - Heart Disease
the Cause.
Ex-Assemblyman Peter Loehr of Dotyville, died at 6 o'clock this morning of heart
disease, at the age of 68 years. He is survived by a large family of grown up children.
Ex-Assemblyman Loehr was born in Thalheim, Nassau, Germany, in 1831, where he received
a common school education. In 1855 he came to Wisconsin and settled in Milwaukee.
Three years later he came to
Dotyville, in the town of Forest, where he has since resided. He was chairman of
the town board from 1873 to 1888, when he was elected to the assembly from the third
district, then comprising the towns of Ashford, Auburn, Calumet, Eden, Forest, Marshfield,
Osceola and Taycheedah. His opponent at that time was Henry Stannard, a farmer residing
in the same Town.

Peter Loehr: "Ex-Assemblyman from Fond du Lac Expires
from Heart Disease.
FOND DU LAC, Wis., Feb. 9- Peter Loehr, formerly assemblyman from the old Eastern
district of Fond du Lac county, died today of heart disease at his home in the town
of Forest. He was born in Germany sixty-eight years ago, came to America in 1855
and to this county in 1858. He was elected member of assembly on the Democratic ticket
in 1888. He is survived by his widow and thirteen children.
