John Schramka
John Schramka, formerly a contractor and builder in Port Washington and owner of
a brickyard near South Bluff, died at 1:40 o'clock Sunday morning at the age of sixty-seven
years. He was born in Poland and came to America when a young man.
He is survived by six children, Frank and Wallie, of Chicago; and Mrs. Anna Landowski,
Mrs. Helen Wanta, Mrs. Frances Wasilewski, and Mrs. Pearl Kasedowski, of Milwaukee.
Ten grandchildren also remain. Mrs. Schramka died many years ago. The funeral
was held Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the residence of his dauther, Mrs.
Wasilewski, Locust street, Milwaukee, to St. Elizabeth's church. Burial was in Holy
Cross cemetery.
He built a large number of buildings in Port Washington, including St. John's Lutheran
church. Until his death, he owned the business on Second Pier street south of the
harbor.
