Rev. Wesley Maechtle
The Rev. Wesley Maechtle, 66, pastor of the Eldorado and Van Dyne E.U.B. Churches,
died of a heart attack at his home about 7 a.m. Monday at North Fond du Lac.
The Rev. Maechtle was born in the Town of Saukville, Ozaukee County, son of George
and Paulina Maechtle. After completing studies for the ministry he served E.U.B.
churches at Prairie du Chien, Elroy, Westfield, Clarno and Batavia before going to
North Fond du Lac.
Survivors are his wife, the former Mae Killian of Milwaukee; one son, Gordon, of
Naperville, Ill. and one daughter, Miss Mildred Maechtle, a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital,
Racine; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Klingbell, Milwaukee, Mrs. Alma Maier of Jim Falls,
Wis., Mrs. Selma Baumgartner, Naperville, and Mrs. Frieda Matthies of Thiensville;
two brothers, Ruben of Fond du Lac and Arthur Maechtle of Waubeka.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the E.U.B. Church, 120 Sheboygan
St., Fond du Lac, with interment at the Port Washington Union Cemetery about 3:30
p.m.
Friends may call at the Candlish Funeral Home, Division St., Fond du Lac, after 2
p.m. Wednesday.
