**10 Nov 2006: This Door County Death Index of the Pre-1907 Death Certificates found on FHL Film #1310180 was begun in 2000 by Sue Hohneke for the PGS. After a computer crash, the index was believed to be lost. Sue had also been ill and unable to try to begin it again. Recently, she has begun a new treatment for her RA and has found a copy of the old 2000 beginning of the Death Index on an old 3.5 disc. Finally converted, that beginnings of the Door County Death-Pre 1907 Index is again a work in progress and will be expanded from time to time on this website. The deaths are not in order by date so it is hard to decide on an end date of each installment but there are about 300 death certificates (last certificate is dated 1880) on this first (PARTIAL) Index- produced as PDF files in two formats: Alphabetical and Sequential as they are on the microfilm .

Check the Alphabetical first and then go to the Sequential to find all the persons listed on the Certif#.(don't forget to check the year because the certif #'s recycle through the years-you need both the year and the certif.# to find your Death Certificate that will be listed with all the persons/dates/places listed together.
