Located in the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay is the Laurie History Room (also known as The Laurie Room) which is the location of all the pertinent Family History Resources for Door County.:

NEWSPAPERS from all the newspapers of Door County on microfilm.

CENSUSES  for Door County on microfilm: all the Federal and State Censuses.

GENEALOGIES:  Many researchers have donated their personal family histories to the Laurie Room of the DCL.  A SURNAME INDEX has begun to be created by the PGS by extracting the major surnames of each family history.  Please click on the button below to go to the Surname Index:

CEMETERY INDEXES:  The Index to Cemetery Transcriptions for Door County by the Old Cemetery Society and typed by its member Sally Treichel.  Each Cemetery in Door County indexed in the 1970's.  These are being made available on this PGS Website and are in the process of being updated. 

OBITUARY INDEX:  Index to Obituaries in the all the Door County Newspapers.  Find your person in this index, locate the newspaper on the microfilm and make a copy of your OBIT!   The PGS will make copies for you: $1.00 each.  The PGS is in the process of putting the Index to Obituaries on this website.

HISTORIES OF DOOR COUNTY:  Martin's History and Holand's History-both of which have indexes in separate volumes.
