The newspapers also are all microfilmed and available at the DOOR COUNTY LIBRARY-(MAIN) IN STURGEON BAY (CITY) 's Laurie History Room. (THE DOOR COUNTY LIBRARY (DCL): 107 S. Fourth Avenue-(920)743-6578). They are also available at the Brown County Public Library in Green Bay.

CARR, January 1885-March, 1886; purchased then by an association of citizens (A. W. LAWRENCE, L. M. WASHBURN and others), and styled Independent. In February-March 1881, published articles on history of Door county. Independent (except in 1876. Democratic).
Independent.-Successor of Expositor; in March 1888, sold to Dudley CRANDALL, and conducted by him till July 1890; then purchased by Joseph HARRIS, Jr. and styled Republican.
Sturgeon Bay Republican.-Successor of Independent; conducted by Joseph HARRIS till July 1891; then sold to J. Edward HARRIS; in January 1893, styled Democrat. Republican till July 1891; thereafter Democratic.

McCORD during first three months, and with H. HARRIS, 1866-April 1875); by Frank LONG since April 1875. In May 1870, published a history of Door county, Republican."
