Location: NE Corner NE1/4 NW1/4 Section 9, Town of Forestville. 0.8 miles east of Maplewood off of Highway 42 on County Trunk H on the south side of the road. The name of the church was changed from St. Mary Catholic Church to Holy Name of Mary Church in 1884 when new church was built in Maplewood. The monument with the cemetery name is still St. Mary and was donated in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Edward Schmelzer, Syl & Mary Schmelzer , Clayton & Doloris Junion. The cemetery is located next to the church and maintained in good condition by parish members.

FESSNECH, (no names or dates), *(?)OBITUARY-Door Co. Advocate-Fri. 13 Oct 1944:  "Peter FESSNEICH, 78, died at a Sturgeon Bay hospital Saturday from complications of a two-day illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 8:30 from the STONEMAN Chapel and at 9 o'clock from Corpus Christi church, with the Rev. H. N. PFEIFER officiating.  Burial was at Maplewood.  George and Anton BREY, George KOLBECK, Jack BRETAL.-Jack SEVERSON and Peter GEIER were pallbearers.  Mr. FESSNEICH was born in Manitowoc county Sept. 12, 1866, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard FESSNEICH.  When he was six, the family moved to Forestville where they bought a farm.  As a young man he worked in lumber camps as a cook.  For the last twelve years he has lived in Sawyer with is brother..."
