1904 - March 28 George Griffin (13) shot by Johnnie Condon (14); Condon found guilty of 4th-degree manslaughter
1907 - April 17 Florence Dugan shot George Schumacher, who eventually dies at Mercy Hospital from gangrene on Nov. 28; Dugan was charged with attempted murder, but acquitted (temporary insanity)
1908 - Jan. 21 Michael Cronin (elderly stonemason) has skull crushed (later dies); crime unsolved
1911 - June 21 Louis Keller (80) shot Johanna Hischke (killing her) and her daughter Katherine (15) & husband Fred; Keller plead guilty & sentenced to life in prison
1911 - Sept. 25 L. G. Larson (carpenter) shoots & kills wife Celia (21) in Janesville; Larson later commited suicide
1912 - Oct. 1 Tillie Bergsterman (37) assaulted & killed in Janesville by Harry Berger (17) and Edward Meyer (19); each sentenced to 18 years in prison
1912 - Dec. 7 Miss Mary Fiedler killed (crushed skull) by William Kunkle on Kidder farm, west of Milton; Kunkle commited suicide
1913 - Feb. 26 Edward Ryan killed (stabbed) by Louis Belden; Belden is acquitted (self defense)
1915 - Dec. 11 Maudie Lawrence (14) shot & killed by Tony Martin in Janesville
