• Abt. 1894 - Orion SUTHERLAND was one of the first men to take up golf in Janesville
• 1894 - Sinnissippi Golf Club organized (one of the first golf clubs in the U.S.; later merged with the Janesville Country Club*
• 1901 - Janesville Country Club hosts Wisconsin's first golf tournament
