Ironton:
E. T. Cohoon, was born Jan. 6, 1805, in Vermont. He was married in 1828, to Philletta Williams; had four children by this marriage, none of whom are living; Mrs. C. died on 1838. May 4, 1832, Mr. C. moved to Toledo, Ohio. He was married, Aug. 3, 1845, in New York, to Mrs. France, sister of his first wife; they had two children, one of whom, Seneca, is living. In 1959, Mr. C. and famiily came to Wisconsin; settled in Fairfield, Sauk Co., and in the spring of 1864, came to Ironton, Sec. 27, where he now resides. he has 40 acres of land; is a member of the Christain Church, and Republican in politics. When Mr. C. came to Toledo, there were only eleven white people there.
