Fred Flame, proprietor of blacksmith and wagon shop, Black Hawk; was born in Germany March 16, 1847; in 1868, he came to Wisconsin, locating in Richland Center, working there and in various other places in the southern part of Wisconsin until his coming to Black Hawk, where he engaged in blacksmithing and wagon-making, on his own account, and has succeeded in building up a large trade. He married, in Richland County, Miss Maggie Berger; she was born in Richland County; they have two children- Fred and Curtis. Mr. Flamme learned mechanical work in his native country, and had years of experience before his coming to this country; his work is strictly first class.
