John Foss, farmer, Sec. 28, he was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, June 3, 1839; came to America in October, 1850, with his father, Chris Foss, and located near Milwaukee; came to Sauk Co. in 1863; he was 160 acres of land. He was married in 1858 to Miss Minnie Springer; she was born in Baden, Germany, they have four children – Albert, Jonk, Paulina and Frank. Both Mr. and Mrs. Foss are members of the German Lutheran Church. In politics, Mr. Foss is a Democrat; he has his father make his home with him, his mother having died some fifteen years ago.
