Welcome to

Shawano County Genealogy

We are a local group of genealogy researchers. We live here in Shawano County and have put together a local website to better help other researchers. We are working hard to transcribe all the Vital Records we can. We have finished indexing the huge volumes of Obituaries stored here in Shawano. We now have 119 Cemeteries finished. We are working on the last of the largest which is Woodlawn. Others are still working at adding valuable information daily. So give us a peek every so often to see what we have added. Our sources are vast so it will take a little time for our group to transcribe it all.

Being we are local if we don't have it in our Research we can find it elsewhere for you.

Since we are just getting our feet wet here, we have posted what we have so far.

We encourage you to submit data of any type, and we will ad it to this site.
You can be linked back to this and have people contact you or not it is up to you. The information is yours, if you decide you no longer want it on this website I will take it off, no hard feelings.

Data will be posted as soon as we receive it.

I want to say Thank You to all who have visited and gave us the great compliments in our efforts to bring you as much information possible while we are just getting started. It makes all the hard work we put into this site worth it. We are all volunteer's who give of our time for this effort. You can be assured we are only just getting started.  We may not have a lot of personal family input on our site just yet, but we are going for what we can give the researcher.... INFORMATION!

My name is Cathe Ziereis and I will work hard to help you through your journey.

My name is Cathe and I host this site. I have been doing genealogical work for the past 27 years. I live in Shawano County and am privy to a wealth of Historical and Archival records which I am willing to share.

As for the comments made by another website:  My mother always told me if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all. And thus I have heeded my mother's words.

~~~Enjoy your visit~~~
I would like to give a big THANK YOU to all who helped create this site. All were volunteers past and present giving of their time and energy to help gather this information. Some were part of the NGS (Northeastern Genealogy Society) which was active back some years ago. Many, many others were involved in recording information which is housed at the Family History Center (FHC) in Shawano. We also have the Shawano County Historical Society, the Bonduel Historical Society and the Shawano County Library. Because we live here and work with the people here, we might be able to help you find a contact.
