Buchholz, Carl passed away on Monday at the age of about eighty-six years after a lengthy illness.  He was formerly from Clintonville and was now living with his son-in-law, Pete Petersen.  He was in general, a respected man.  In 1862 he enlisted in the Civil War.  He was one of the oldest settlers in Town Herman and leaves four grown children.  His wife preceded him in death several years ago.  The funeral was held in Clintonville, where he had purchased a gravesite some time ago.

Carl Bucholtz, one of the oldest settlers of our town, breathed his last on Monday.  His age was 85 years.  He located some 35 years ago when all was wilderness.  At the breaking out of the war of the rebellion he enlisted and served with an honorable record until the close.  He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Peter Peterson, and three sons, August, Charles and William.  Interment at Clintonville on Wednesday.
