Town of Grant- Last week HENRIETTE HEHMAN, one of the oldest settlers died. She came here directly from Holland in 1858, and though accustomed only to the flat surface of her native land, she energetically commenced the clearing of her lands. She will be greatly missed in her hone.
OBITUARY - Died - In the town of Pella on the 27th day of January, 1879, Mrs. BERTHA HEHMAN, aged 73 years. Mrs. Hehman was one of the first settlers in this town, having come here with her husband and children in the year 1857, While Pella was still a wilderness, they built their home, and here her husband died. His death was a very sudden and fairly unsettled Mrs. Hehman's mind. She went to live with her daughter, but was ever planning to escape to her old home with the hope of meeting her husband there. Three weeks before she died she had her wish fulfilled, and she sunk to rest in the old home she loved so well. She leaves a large number of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She lived a Christian, and died as she lived.
