Carl Hoeffs, a well known farmer residing near Bonduel, died Monday morning as the result of having his leg amputated.  Several months ago Mr. Hoeffs sustained an injury to the knee.  The wound failed to heal and caused intense suffering.  As a last resort, Dr. Eicher amputated the injured member, but even then the afflicted manís life could not be saved, his death resulting a few days after the leg was taken off.
