Death Claims a Child
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hoffman was shadowed by a deep gloom Sunday morning when little Beatrice, their four year old daughter, gave up the fight against the ravages of pneumonia and passed silently to rest. The little girl had been ill for two weeks and in spite of every effort of medical skill to stay the dread disease in its attack upon her, she could not survive and closed her eyes in the last sleep. Beatrice was a bright child, loving, kind-hearted and cheerful. She was a leader among her playmates, whom are heart-broken at her taking away. The child’s parents are also grief-stricken. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Catholic Church and was attended by a large throng tearfully paying a last tribute to the memory of one they loved. The father of the dead child is a fireman at the paper mill.
