Ronald Lyle “Stub” Hohensee, age 61 of Shawano, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 in the Town of Herman. Born on September 8, 1951 in Clintonville, he was the son of Lyle and Gertrude (Schwartz) Hohensee. After graduating high school and attending one year of tech school in Antigo, Ron was inducted into the United States Army where he served his country for two years during the Vietnam War. On February 21, 1981 he was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” Reopelle in Gresham. After marriage the couple made their home in Gresham, later moving to Shawano 25 years ago. Ron worked for Curwood in New London and enjoyed farming in the Town of Herman. When not working, he liked spending time in the woods or hunting, but his biggest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren. Ron was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham.

Ron is survived by: his beloved wife of 31 years, Sandy; his daughter, Nicole (Jacob) Yeager of Shawano; his son, David (special friend, Danielle) Hohensee of Shawano; and 5 grandchildren, Hannah, McKenna, Madix, Monroe and Axyl. He is further survived by: his parents, Lyle and Gertrude of Shawano; 6 siblings, Lavonne (James) Whitehouse of Two Rivers, Kenneth (Mary) Hohensee of Bear Creek, Sandra (Orville) Giese of Bowler, Allen (Debra) Hohensee of Gresham, Michael (Jodi) of Clintonville, Debra (Nathan) Hoffman of Shawano; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham with the Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Rest Cemetery in the Town of Herman with Military Rites conducted by the Gresham American Legion Post #390. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Monday from 4-8pm and at the church on Tuesday after 10am until the time of the service.
