Mother of Ira Jeffers was buried Sunday

Mrs. Clara Bates Jeffers, of Bonduel died at the home of her son, Ira on July 11th, following a lingering illness which confined her to her bed for the last three months.  Infirmities of old age and complications hastened death.

Clara Nates Jeffers was born in Chatham, Tiohog County, Pennsylvania, August 8, 1836.  At the age of eighteen she came with her parents to Wisconsin, the family settling at Grand Prairie, where they lived for three years.  They then moved to Manawa.  Here she was married to Joseph Jeffers.  Six children were born to this union, four of whom have preceded their mother in death.  Mr. Jeffers died twenty-nine years ago.  Mrs. Jeffers has since made her home with her son Ira.

The survivors are two sons, Ira, of Bonduel, and Jackson, of New London.  There are sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
