R. W. JESSE, 78, SHAWANO, DIES RITES SATURDAY
Rhinard W. Jesse, 78, of 1032 E. Green Bay Street, Shawano, died Wednesday, May 1 after a brief illness.
Mr. Jesse was born Dec. 6, 1895 in the town of Pella. He worked as a carpenter and spent most of his life in Shawano. He was a veteran of World War I. He married Agnes Nordwig Oct. 21, 1917 at Rockford, Illinois. She died Dec. 22, 1971. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano, and the American Legion Post 117 and the World War One Barracks.
Survivors are two sons, Roy of New Uln, Minnesota and Franklin, Shawano, who is the Shawano County Highway Commissioner. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and his sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Hulda) Handschke, New London; Mrs. Ed (Augusta) Rosenow, Kaukauna; Mrs. Ben (Dora) Chapman, of LaFayette, Calif; Mrs. Herb (Alma) Papendorf, Fresno, Calif; Mrs. Allen (Clara) Malueg. Wausau; Mrs. Cecil (Erma) Taylar, Richmond, Calif. and Mrs. Rheinhold (Selma) Suehring, Shawano.
One daughter, one son and 4 sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 PM at St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 117 at the graveside.
