Mr. CHARLES JONES, of Antigo, who came here for a visit some 4 or 5 weeks ago, accompanied by his wife, died yesterday at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Thos. Ainsworth, of Richmond, aged 88 years. His death was caused by gangrene, produced by an injury to one of his great toes, some three weeks ago. Mr. Jones was for many years a resident of this county, and was well known by the citizens of ten years ago. He was born in Wales in 1805, and came to America in 1832, settling in Canada. In 1856 he moved to Wisconsin and in 1863 located in Shawano county, which he made his home for more than 20 years, finally moving to Antigo. He was of that sturdy stock of pioneers of which the early history of this state affords so many examples, and enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew him. Besides his aged wife, he leaves 5 daughters, and 3 sons, as follows; Mrs. Thomas Ainsworth, of Richmond; Mrs. John Ainsworth, of Waukechon; Mrs. Jas. Brown, of Embarrass; Mrs. Mary Crone and Mrs. C. C. McNichol, of Antigo; Messrs William and Wellington Jones, of Antigo, and Mr. D. Jones, of this city. The funeral services will take place tomorrow (Friday) at 3:00, at the M. E. Church.
