LON WEST, a well known figure on the Wolf River waters for the past dozen years, died at the Gardner Dam on Wednesday of last week, where he was employed by the Keshena Improvement Co. He had been ill for about a week with bowel trouble, and his death was quite unexpected. His remains were brought to Shawano on Thursday and on Friday interred in the city cemetery. Rev. J.V. Hughes officiating at the funeral. West was about 50 years of age, an old soldier, and leaves a wife and 1 child.
